The Lost Dog Tour Film
By Filmmaker Rosemary Whatmuff, captured entirely on Kodak Super 8 film, The Lost Dog Tour Film is a nostalgic following of one of the oldest folk traditions; a trio going town to town in an American summer.
Isobel Knight, an unsigned, unmanaged Australian artist took her sweet folk trio (Solomon Steele & Esther Lukins) to America on a shoestring, to participate in one of the oldest musical pilgrimages; a band of song-makers going town to town, singing to whoever would listen.
Rosemary Whatmuff carefully threaded a story of their tour experience into an extraordinary account of youth, in a hostile time to be young, with humane energy and deep purpose. A love letter to folk music and DIY touring, The Lost Dog Tour Film- a collage of handheld footage and voice memo audio recordings, is an account of generosity, whilst documenting 'slow' creation and rebellious perseverance in a digital age.
