A lifelong horror fan, Dana Berry has channeled years of “study” and written his first horror feature, The Killdren. In order to promote the screenplay, Dana wrote, directed and produced the short film teaser, The Killdren Are Coming. The short has screened at over a dozen genre film festivals and won several awards, including Best Horror Film Trailer (Oregon Screams Film Festival) and Best Directorial Debut (Adbhooture Film Festival). The feature screenplay won best Horror Comedy Feature Screenplay at Atlanta After Dark Film Festival. Dana has a background in film and television post-production and resides in Oakland, hailing from Boston with a stopover in LA.
Dana and I met on the set of The Mummies Movie and got to know each other through our volunteer group "The Trash Falcons". Dana always has a few horror film scripts he's working on and I thought this one sounded great so we decided to make it together. We went from script to finished film over the next few months. Dana brought his creepy vision of a cursed doll and a haunted house and his encyclopedic knowledge of the horror genre and I brought my playful minimalist style developed through years of working in documentary and "The Little Curse" was born.
