Joshua Bogatin is a New York-based writer and filmmaker. After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts he began working as a film critic and has been published in Mubi Notebook, Screen Slate, Brooklyn Rail, and In Review Online. He also works as a film programmer at Spectacle Theater, an independent micro-cinema in Brooklyn committed to showcasing overlooked films from around the world. As a programmer he has hosted numerous filmmakers showing work both old and new; arranged New York premieres of work by noted artists such as Lav Diaz and El Pampero Cine; and produced supplementary materials such as zines and program notes accompanying films.
