Director Statement

The Last Scene was originally a play written by Richard Thomas Henle, where I, Felix Hiciano, played a lead role. With Richard's blessings, I was able to write the screenplay.

I was compelled to tell this story because it talks about real issues when dealing with friends and family and having those tough conversations. There's a conversation between 2 male characters where we show our vulnerability in a society where men are not supposed to show their vulnerability, their emotional side. The cast is also comprised of 6 Latinos and 3 African Americans. Representation matters and I wanted to bring that out to the world.
