Director Biography - Seb Cox

My personality and films feel built around the idea of taking your time to question your own thought.
“What if, but why, what about” all questions I feel like we should all be asking all the time.

With a background in teaching and science, I love questioning and I hope that from my films my audiences feel the urge to question too.
“What if pixies really did exist?” “How could a mythical creature solve all my problems?” “How do I solve my problems?”

In addition to these larger questions, I’ve seen that many short films are either very dark or very funny. I wanted a film thatfelt like a short adventure with mystery, shake up the average short film.

Director Statement

A children’s fairy tale with layers of deeper medical meaning. ‘The Last Pixie’ opens the doors to a magical world, based on English folklore, and brings in some of the difficulties of adulthood.

Jenny is going through a tough time at home where her mother is developing Parkinson's disease. In desperation and fear, Jenny turns to her childhood and instead of facing her problems head on, she looks for aid from a fairy tale creature.

‘The Last Pixie’ is designed to engross adults and children alike, either for its deeper meaning or its magic and beauty. Overall, the film brings joy and wonder to the unknown and gives us a chance to self-reflect.
