Director Statement

Hello, I'm Owen Kaider, and I'm the director of The Last Message. I'm a student at Fluvanna County High School, and this is the first short film that I've given it my all. It was originally just one of my ideas, but this one stuck out and snowballed.

I've always loved film, especially the ones that genuinely touch your heart. For The Last Message, I wanted to make something that feels personal but gets people thinking as well. Making it was actually harder than I expected, there were moments when everything that could have gone wrong did, but I learned a lot, especially about problem solving and staying creative under pressure.

I'm really thankful to everyone who got me here, especially the Ngov family, who I couldn't have done it without.
