The Last Insurgent
The film The Last Insurgent tells the story of the Trnava military garrison, which was the only one in western Slovakia to join the Slovak National Uprising and oppose the occupying forces of the German Wehrmacht. The events of the time are told by historians, experts on the time era and Štefan Minarovič, the last living insurgent who took part in the hard fighting near Horné Hámry as a member of the Trnava garrison.

I am a young creative artist from Slovakia who is dedicated to the craft of filmmaking. I love creating and telling stories, learning new things and working on challenging projects that push me forwards. My films are mostly oriented towards the drama genre but I'm also consistent in documentary filmmaking.
The film "The Last Insurgent" was created amidst some of the most severe pandemic regulations here in Slovakia and most of our shooting options were very limited when it came to arranging all of our interviews or shooting any B-roll footage. The fact that the film's main hero, to whom the film is also dedicated to was a 94-year old WW2 veteran Štefan Minarovič, was also challenging mainly due to the additional organizational and producing stress it brought about. Sadly, Mr. Minarovič passed away during the edit of the film. Despite this loss, we have managed to portray the events that the Trnava garrison had to go through and the hardships they endured when rebelling against the German war machine.
