Originally hailing from the micro Australian city of Swan Hill, Steven moved to the state capital of Melbourne to study Media Arts at RMIT. There he met many of the friendly characters and crew for his various projects and first feature film, which he made mainly with credit card debt after belatedly graduating in 2012. He's been living and working as an English teacher in South Korea for the past 3 years.

The purpose of the film is to unite the physical manifestations of nihilism and productivity in order to raise awareness for stereotypical action tropes in a manner that transcends pretentiousness or parody and offers an enlightened perspective on alcoholism, violence, diversity and trading companies.
