Known professionally as ROYOS (Reflect On Your Old Self), Leroy Da Silva is a Musician & Filmmaker from South-East London who is overflowing with talent, blessing the world with a fresh, alternative and new sound inspired by artists such as Octavian, Knucks and Sango. ROYOS is also Director & Videographer; skills he incorporates when creating his own projects.
The reason I chose to tackle this topic in such a way is because I am not a politician, I don’t believe I have the means to provide a solution, but as a Content creator I believe I can shed light on the issues in a way that is appealing to those affected as well as those unaware.
Making this film freed me from the boundaries of a short film with a narrative and allowed me to approach this more like a piece of art that contains stimuli for almost all of the senses and with this realization, I was able to create it without worrying about the connotations that the audiences would get from watching this.
Similarly to a Painting in a gallery, before reading the artist dossier, each spectator comes up with their own interpretation of what they think the artist is trying to say based on their own life experiences.
