The Kids From Hunts

The daughter of two Soviet Jewish emigres, screenwriter Mishka Trachtenberg Cardenas came to writing after a long history in the performative arts. She studied acting both at UC San Diego as well as at the Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, where she received her Masters. Following her studies, Mishka spent time in New York before returning to California and settling in Los Angeles where she shifted her energized focus from performance to production. She parlayed her years of script study and analysis into her work as a costume designer in independent film, exploring the essence of storytelling thru design and visual symbolism. All this filtered into her development as a writer and producer of independent works where she takes a wholistic approach to writing. World building details are given as much care and attention as the characters’ development and story. Fascinated by the interior lives of fragile characters pushed to the brink, often with dark surrealistic undertones, Mishka Trachtenberg Cardenas both writes and produces independent work with her husband thru their production company, Rabiosa Pictures.
