Kristen Collier is co-founder with her husband of Creative Motion Network, a free Roku channel created to help give indie Christian producers more exposure, Collier Animation Studio, and Xian Wear apparel, on Amazon. CAS is producing their first cartoon, "Benny the Barnacle," which features Corbin Bernsen ("Psych," "LA Law"), with cameos by Lou Gramm, a Christian, singer from the band from Foreigner, Marta Kristen, who played Judy from "Lost in Space," and others.
I am a proud Lutheran, and I love my Lutheran heritage dearly, and have pastors and teachers going back to Germany. I was an LCMS secretary for 7 years, grew up in the Lutheran school system and an Ann Arbor grad. I am eternally thankful to count the sainted Dr. Carlton, and Dr. Shuta, among my theology profs, and my top aim is to produce media "to help seek and to save that which were lost."
My husband and I created this Capt'n Luther series, of which this video is part of my "Need 2 Read - Storytime" series I created to help encourage reading. The narrator, "Capt'n Luther," is played by pastor/comedian, Kenny "Cornbread" Robinson, and this is based on our picture book, "The Jumbo Shrimp of Dire Straits." My husband is currently writing the YA chapter book origin story for Capt'n Luther and his crew. Our goal is to subtly introduce viewers to the rich heritage and sound theology of the LCMS, by especially holding up the strong male characters of Capt'n Luther and his seafarin' crew. This is very important to us to promulgate in today's world, when men of great valor are so desperately needed.
