The Island

Oliver, a young man full of rage can't seem to let his last relationship go. He has set himself apart from his family and friends and spends days drinking away the sadness of the break-up even months later in his small rented apartment.

Things come to a head when he discovers that his ex-girlfriend, Ciru, has a new boyfriend via her WhatsApp status. With his pent-up emotions and current poor mental health status, he makes the impulsive decision: if he can't have her, no one ever will. Nobody will ever want her. The agent: concentrated battery acid.

He easily secures the acid and sets off to her place. He meets her cheeky little sister, Michelle, playing in the front-yard. When she calls Ciru, the juxtaposition of her and a giggling Michelle finally brings Oliver back to the land of the living. Very close to making a very big mistake.

He leaves in a daze and decides to reach out to his mother whose calls and messages he has been ignoring. He has realized that no man is an island.
