Director Biography - Inga Moren Tapias

Inga Moren Tapias is a Colombian-born director based in Miami and New York. The bold, ten-year-old Florida transplant would later photograph her luminous coming-of-age story in her teenage years with a Nikon F2 and skip her college graduation in LA, jumping headfirst into the commercial world.

Inga directs macro existential stories with big global ramifications, juxtaposing with the micro events of human behavior. Her mockumentary, Pretty Dead, premiered at HBO’s Women in Comedy Festival and was awarded most creative, unique short at NYWIFT Online Film Festival. It’s available worldwide via Roku and GoIndieTV. Her thriller Luz Marina premiered at HBO’s Latino Film Festival. The Interview, a dramedy short, filmed virtually during quarantine just completed post-production. Currently, she is developing feature films Homesick and Conviction that was selected to Stowe Story Labs’ Sidewalk Narrative Lab in 2021. In addition, she is developing TV series MIA, and VR short, The Birth of Grebdlin.

With over ten years of industry experience, Inga worked as an assistant editor for Universal Pictures’ The Photograph, which starred Issa Rae, Paramount Plus’ The Good Fight, and was an associate editor for HBO’s 15: a Quinceañera Story, which premiered at Hamptons International Film Festival. She holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and is a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
