Director Biography - Charlie Dennis

After a whirlwind few years in commercial and music video filmmaking, Charlie is keen to get stuck back into the narrative world, making films in the gaps between projects, collaborating with friends and writing longer-form narrative in the mean time.

After working on over 50+ prominent features and commercials such as Star Wars (Ep 8, Rogue One, Han Solo), Spectre, Fantastic Beasts, Ready Player One and many many more within the assistant director department years back, he has now moved on full time to directing commercials, film, music videos and documentary for established clients across the globe.

Some of his shoots includes commercial work for Adidas, Mastercard, Virgin, Kellogs, Amazon, Johnson & Johnson, eBay, Jaguar Land Rover, Channel 4, Dare2Be, Universal Music Group, with his music videos appearing on Vevo and Vidzone TV.

Amongst his narrative film awards, his latest Nicorette commercial was sponsored for multiple entires in the 2018 Cannes Lions awards.

Director Statement

This film is a result of having equipment left over for the night from a commercial shoot and 4 handy creative individuals wanting to make something ridiculous. We chucked the camera up at 11pm on a Thursday night, ad-libbed and improvised a script, recorded the audio with an iPhone and bobs your uncle, The Hug Deal was made.
