Brisbane based writer/director with a focus on minimalistic stories portraying everyday situations and shining a light on the unseen.
With a focus on the loss of people and oneself, his work can be understood by anyone who has gone through the experiences of loss and isolation. With deep care for people and togetherness. Simple behavior can be influential and impactful to society.
The House He Built is a representation of what it's like growing up in a neglectful household. This film explores what that experience is like behind closed doors. The subject matter of The House He Built draws from personal childhood experiences not only from me but I've found through conversations with my creative producer for the project that she has had similar experiences as well.
The dynamic of family relationships and how it can impact a person's growth throughout their life is something that really fascinates me as an artist and is definitely something that I want to explore more of for future projects.
