The Holy Chariot
The Ganges is how one identifies India. The Ganges is the longest river within India. The Ganges is considered the most sacred river to the Hindus. It is a popular belief in India that taking bath in river Ganges frees a person from all his or her sins. The film is a animated mythological representation of the history of the river Ganges. The Ganges is personified as Goddess Ganga in the Hindu scriptures.
The film is an appeal to everyone coming to the Ghats (the place where water meets the river) of river Ganges to keep it clean. More than 60,000 on an average day come to the river Ganges at the Ghats of Varanasi every day. The film is about the mythological tale of a King Sagar who won a war and was advancing towards earth to celebrate his victory was plotted by God Indra otherwise. It involves the story of the efforts it took for a King Bhagirath to penance for more than 1000 years to bestow on earth river Ganges and by this film it is an appeal to not waste this dedication and vision and not be selfish to keep the river Ganges for millions of people unclean and probably unattainable for future generations.
