Writer Biography - Janet "Jan" Hogan

Jan Hogan grew up reading everything she could get her hands on & making up her own stories. As an adult, her free-lance magazine articles resulted in an unexpected call: would she like a newspaper reporter job with the Las Vegas Review-Journal? She took two seconds to respond - you bet! A few years later, she was tapped to write an as-told-to book (Prometheus Books/New York). But, as Jan soon learned, writing newspaper articles & telling others' stories wasn't enough. So, she spent her spare time writing novels. Her first one took Honorable Mention out of 13,200 entries in the annual Writer's Digest contest. She hasn't stopped writing novels since.

Writer Statement

Perhaps it's because I grew up in a haunted house, but my imagination has always been active & drove me to write stories. Now, I've been urged to make my books into scripts. Let's be clear: I don't write so people will remember my name but, rather, my goal is to get people so engrossed in the story that they never want to set the book down.
