“People's Choice” is the theme of The Hague Global Cinema Festival (earlier known as The Hague World Cinema Festival*). Meet the world in The Hague and celebrate the art of filmmaking in the city of peace and justice on Saturday 16 November 2019!
We are pleased to announce that the event will be hosted in the prestigious Filmhuis Den Haag. In addition to professional curators, our jury consists of film lovers from Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and, of course, The Hague. A rightfully “People's Choice”
We are overwhelmed with the number of entries from more than 75 countries so far. All selected entries will get a certificate of selection and will be screened in Filmhuis Den Haag on the event day.

*The Hague World Cinema Festival is now known as The Hague Global Cinema Festival. We changed the name due to some unavoidable circumstances. Any inconvenience is regretted.
THGCF presents three awards for the following categories:
• Best Short Film
• Best Documentary
• Best Feature film
The three Award winners will be announced after the the screening of the last film on Saturday 16 November at Filmhuis Den Haag. The winning filmmakers will receive a message by email.
Cinema of all genres
*No restrictions in length
*No restriction in year of making
*All non-English language films must be subtitled in English.
*English films with English subtitles are encouraged.
*We also accept submissions that have premiered elsewhere.
*Multiple entries are allowed, however a separate entry must be submitted for each.
*Entry fees are non-refundable.
*We will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in scheduling and/or venue.
*No film may be withdrawn from the festival program after its selection.
*If chosen as an official selection, The Hague Global Cinema Festival is granted the permission to exhibit the film at The Hague Global Cinema Festival and all associated screenings and their all media publicity material.
* Location and timing of any screenings of the film shall be the sole decision of the organizers of The Hague Global Cinema Festival.
*Filmmakers will be solely responsible for all costs resulting from the submission of the film to the Festival.
* Films selected for screening will be required in DCP format. Filmmakers will send us the DCP format at their own cost and risk.
*Although every precaution will be taken to prevent loss or damage to materials while in the possession of the festival, The Hague Global Cinema Festival is not responsible should any materials be damaged while in transit to or from, or while in the possession of the festival.
*The filmmaker holds The Hague Global Cinema Festival, its management, juries, subsidiaries, partners, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and etc. harmless from any and all claims of liability resulting from entry.
*The filmmaker certifies to have full rights. The filmmaker will indemnify the organizers of The Hague Global Cinema Festival against all claims, demands, costs, damages, expenses (including legal fees), proceedings and losses resulting from the screening of the film at the Festival or from claims by any third parties.
*The filmmaker certifies that the music used especially in the music videos is an original score.
*The filmmakers availing student discount for submission will need to provide us with valid student ID or some other evidence in case their film is selected for live screening or for some award. Their selection or award will be cancelled if fail to produce any evidence.
*Decisions of the management of the festival will be final and binding to the submitters regarding judgment, selection, screenings, awards, prizes, certificates, laurels, venue, dates, schedule or any other activity related to the event. Filmmakers certify and undertake to abide by the decision of the festival management.
*Deadline selection of films by jury: 1 September 2019
*Deadline for delivery of films at Filmhuis Den Haag: 15 October
*Films delivered after 15 October will not be included in the programme!
