The Guy From Niagara
Shortly before his 90th birthday, Big John’T-Bone’ Little opened up on his life as a musician, a career spanning over 70 years. A descendant of escaped slaves on both sides of his family, his love for music goes back to the age of six when he had his first public performance. His considerable talent has taken him all across North America, where he is often referred to as Canada’s King of Music. In this film, he talks about his childhood, early music life and family, how his music has been influenced by listening to and playing with Oscar Peterson, B.B. King, Bo Diddley, Oliver Jones, Jeff Healey and others. He also talks about his sojourn in Quebec and New Brunswick and his great love for his place of birth, Niagara Falls. This documentary includes interviews with Oliver Jones, Steve Burnside, Beth Morris, Doug McVicar, Jerry Salfi and others who all talk about their relationship and experiences with Big John ‘T-Bone’ Little, The Guy From Niagara.
