Director Biography - Collin Gossel

Collin is a comedy screenwriter, director, and reluctant podcaster based out of Los Angeles. In New York City, he improvised musicals weekly with his team Winston at The Magnet Theater and performed stand-up comedy in countless dimly-lit venues. Collin is a former Editor of the Sundial Humor Magazine and his short fiction has been published by National Lampoon, Splitsider, Funny or Die, and The Weekly Humorist. His scripts have been praised for their lovable characters, relentless humor, and complex themes.

Director Statement

The Guardian is about the desperate search for connection in times of isolation and our hilarious tendency to let ego get in the way. Shot at the Vanalden Caves, we satirized adventure films to play with the stereotypically masculine refusal to admit you want the same thing everyone wants: friendship.
