This is a pyramid scheme. I was told that I was a finalist but could only be considered for an award if I attended a each day of a three-day self-help seminar wherein the only message they wanted to get across is "get your picture taken with the celebrities we paid to be here and people will think you're important." I guess the upside is you didn't have to pay the $5,000 fee that other attendees did.

I tried to get in touch many times and the communication was awful or I got responses by emails with 72 different colors and fonts using words like "marketing" and "entrepreneur." There was absolutely no information about when films would be screened. I got dozens of emails leading up to the event to participate in a webinar where the guy running this Ponzi scheme stood in front of a poorly-lit green screen bragging about how he told someone that she was making the mistake of a lifetime if she chose to stay with her dying mother instead of attending this conference (again, for about $5,000).

I feel ripped off that these two suckered me into paying $50 for absolutely nothing. I'll be contacting FilmFreeway to have this festival removed.

  • Wouldn't email or call me or my producer back with any information about the festival. It just claimed that I was a "Semi-finalist" on film freeway, yet they never explained what that meant. Really not a good experience
