The Great Strangers
Rebeka, a 26-year-old mother of two daughters, Anika (4) and Mahi (2), embarks on a joyful train journey with her husband Rakib (30) from Sylhet to Dhaka. However, a microscopic alien parasite, one of the last 100 survivors of a dying species from a distant galaxy, enters her body while she sleeps.
The parasite scans Rebeka’s mind, copying her memories, emotions, and personality before obliterating her consciousness. It destroys her biological brain, replacing it with its advanced alien intelligence, and takes full control of her body. To her family, Rebeka appears the same, but she is no longer human in mind.
The parasite, (Parasite ap270) seamlessly integrates into Rebeka’s life, using her body to observe and adapt to human society. As subtle changes in her behavior emerge, her family
remains unaware of the horrifying truth. Across the world, other parasites begin their missions, hinting at a global transformation.
The story intricately weaves the principles of Psychological First Aid (PFA) into its narrative. Rebeka, as a loving mother and wife, instinctively applies PFA, offering comfort and emotional support to her family, especially in moments of stress. Meanwhile, Ap270, the alien parasite inhabiting Rebeka’s body, uses PFA to mimic human emotional responses. It learns empathy, comfort, and connection, not as genuine emotions, but as calculated tools for survival.
With cold precision, these parasites plan to ensure their survival by infiltrating humanity, evolving emotionally and physically, and reshaping the world from within.
