The Great Journey of Mikolaj Krzysztof "The Orphan" Radziwill

Synopsis:
Film about one of the facets of the existence of the Radziwills in Belarus - the burial tradition of the magnate family. The permission to set up a crypt in the basement room of the church of God’s body in Nesvizh was personally received from Pope Nicholas Christopher Radzivill Orphan in the 16th century. Over the centuries, the Nesvizh crypt is placed on a par with the dynastic tombs of the Habsburgs and the Bourbons, the royal families of Europe. Today there are 72 sarcophagi. The film is a fascinating and informative movement in time and space, based on the intrigue of the orphan's journey through Europe and his pilgrimage to Egypt and the Holy Land, as well as the secret burial grounds of the Nesvizhskaya crypt. Through all these peripetias, we feel belonging to one of the most interesting pages of Belarusian history.
