Welcome to The Grand Budapest Film Festival, a 2-day annual event dedicated to independent filmmakers from all over the world.
Every year, we are celebrating independent cinema in the heart of lively Budapest. Puskin Mozi, one of the city’s oldest art cinemas provides a perfect venue for our event, created for the culture-loving, cinephile, international crowd of the city.
The festival’s aim is to provide a platform for filmmakers who don’t necessarily have a large budget, but a vision and an important story to tell. Through our careful selection process our goal is to showcase a wide variety of genres and styles to cinema fans and fellow international filmmakers.
We will be handing out a number of awards at the event in a number of categories, selected and evaluated by our Jury. Our Jury panel consists of experienced and educated members of the film industry and we also offer film critiques for your film.
We encourage you to submit to several categories in order to increase your chances of getting selected.
We look forward to putting on a spectacular event in the beautiful city of Budapest and show-casing your film.
Filmmakers attending the festival will be greeted with VIP treatment, reserved seats, gift bags, and cocktails at the after-party.
Winners will be awarded with Award Certificates, prizes and trophies.
The winner of the Audience Award will be awarded with the prestigious Budapest Trophy, gift bag and award certificate.
Press and photographers will be invited to the festival.
