Do you have a great idea for The Golden Doorknob competition (details at http://www.ithaca.edu/rhp/goldendoorknob), and want to shoot it, but haven't been able to build the team and make it happen? Write a script, enter it into competition, and win one of three $200 grants towards making your script into a film.

The Gold List is a screenwriting competition open to all current students of Ithaca College. Applicants submit original screenplays that meet the following criteria:

1) are 6 or fewer pages in length
2) feature someone or something being killed by a doorknob
3) have not been previously produced or submitted to the Golden Doorknob competition

IMPORTANT: The Gold List is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ithaca College. It is independently operated and funded by alumni of the college who were greatly impacted by their experience with the Golden Doorknobs and are looking to support current students.

Awards & Prizes

Three winners are awarded a $200 grant towards the production of their screenplay for submission to next year's Golden Doorknob competition, and will each be matched with an alumni mentor, who will consult on the development and production of the film.

Rules & Terms

The following rules and terms apply:

-The submitter of a screenplay must be one of the credited writers, and a currently enrolled student of Ithaca College.
-The submitted screenplay must be an original work.
-Individuals may submit as many original screenplays as they wish; however, it is unlikely that the jury will award multiple submissions from the same writer.
-The prize will be dispensed as reimbursement for qualified expenses (e.g. costumes purchase, props purchase) as demonstrated by receipts. Award winners will be given a complete list of qualified expenditures with their award notice. NOTE: Certain expenses specifically will not qualify, including but not limited to: equipment rental, food, labor, and location rental.
-The prize will only be dispensed following submission of the completed film to the Golden Doorknob Awards.
-The organizers reserve all right to modify, amend, or cancel any of the rules and terms without notice.
-The organizers reserve the right to award or not award any money at their sole discretion.
