Aniruddh: By profession, I am graphic designer but filmmaking has always been a passion of mine. I've always wanted to tell a good story. More than that I've always wanted to see that story come out on screen. I believe it is every film maker's duty to captivate his/her audience. Make them enjoy every second of a story and at the end, leave them asking "What next?". That's when a story is told perfectly and that is what I strive for.
Kiat Long: Singapore born and raised, Tay Kiat Long has never undergone formal film training. Since he picked up a camera aged 14, he honed his craft by tagging along on film sets, observing and learning as an amateur hobbyist. He is camera shy, outrageously humble, and excels under pressure. He also enjoys acoustic music, horror films and chocolate, preferably all at the same time.
The Gift is a subtle comment on where greed can lead a person. We wanted the story to be easily captured and thus we kept it straight and simple. It is the acting of my colleagues that gave the movie its gravitas.
