The Gentleman Driver gives an inside look into the lives of four extraordinary businessmen who moonlight as race car drivers and the highest levels of sports-car racing. The film follows these men through both their business and racing lives, learning about what makes them unique, how they got to where they are, and how they deal with their "two lives". The men featured in this film are at the top in both the business and racing worlds. They are true outliers.

Director Biography - Mario Mattei

Mario Mattei is an award-winning director & cinematographer creating original films & cinematic content for expressive brands, ad agencies, & remarkable people.

Mario's recent documentary, The Gentleman Driver, received worldwide distribution & is available on NETFLIX. He has directed & lensed work for top brands such as Under Armour, IBM, Red Bull, & Salvation Army. His crime-drama short, Being Thomas (Amazon Prime), won an audience award, & his debut documentary about Black Sea Turks premiered at Long Beach International Film Festival.

Whether crafting docustyle, commercial, or visual narrative, Mario seeks to provoke thought & stir emotions. He believes theme & substance emerge through time-tested storytelling techniques, & that an ad or film's emotional need should determine the visual language employed.

Originally from Arizona, Mario's education in writing & vocation in photography led him to live abroad in both India & Turkey for several years. He now lives in Austin, Texas with his lovely wife & children, enjoying good friendships, cheesy cactus tacos, & daily finding Beauty in the ordinary.
