The Garden Elephants

This documentary is about a herd of homeless elephants that live and forage in the tea gardens of Golaghat in the state of Assam, India as the forest has been reduced to almost half in last three decades due to deforestation, tea garden establishment and enchroachment. As a consequence these elephants are in constant conflict with villagers. In winter months the situation becomes more complicated as they raid paddy fields in nearby areas and engage in more intense conflicts with poor farmers that result in death of elephants and human.
