The GFaB (Gay Fine Arts Ball) Awards is an annual event that celebrates and honor original LGBQ content creators of color in the field of Literature, Music, Film, Television/New Media, and Theatre.

GENERAL RULES
REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES

The 1st GFab Awards will take place in Los Angeles from 22 July 2016.

1. Submission Deadlines
Submissions will be accepted from November 15th 2015. The early deadline is 1 November 2015, the regular deadline is June 1, 2016, the late deadline is 22 June 2016, the Extended Deadline is 29 June 2016. Early entry is encouraged but in no way guarantees acceptance.

2. Submission Format
Films must be submitted EITHER via online screener OR by TWO (2) DVDs. The tracking number, film title, film category and running time MUST be clearly labeled on the two DVDs. Please avoid stickers on the cover. Submitted copies will not be returned.

3. Submission Eligibility
- All submissions must have been completed after 1 August 2015.
- There is no premiere policy for short films and tv Series/New Media.
- Works-in-progress are not accepted

4. Submission Fee
All FilmFreeway submissions for The GFab Awards are to be paid on FilmFreeway. The submission fee is non-refundable.

Submission packages from outside the United States must be labeled 'Trade Sample' on any customs label and, for customs purposes, must be given a value of no more than US$10.

6. Selection of Films
Submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
- Quality of narrative and production values
- Independent nature of the production
- LGBQ or Trans leading character of ethnic background or nature
- LGBQ or Trans storyline or plot required

GFab Awards endeavours to complete all selection procedures by 20 June 2016 and inform all submitting parties, in writing, if their film has been successful or not after that time. Successful submissions will receive a GFab Award Pack that will include important information on the Award, press and publicity, guest accreditation, contact information and how to make the most of participating in the Award.

A selected Nominee must notify acceptance no later than SEVEN days upon receiving Nominee selection.

7. Award Show
The GFab Awards are scheduled to take place July 22, 2016 which the location will be sent out to the Nominees and other parties 30 days prior to the event taking place.

No film may be withdrawn from the festival programme after its selection.
