Director Statement

"The Funeral" captures the real story of the players in the film who have gone through real circumstances during the 90s under occupation in Kosovo. The images that appear in the film are also real itineraries that the players have gone through; except the character Leonard who comes from outside and who has given the opportunity to go through them as well. The peculiarity of these experiences that have been translated in the medium of the film are the reflection of the violence of those years and its reduction to a single sentence: "you`re not giving me, I`m taking from you" - in the scene when the character Teacher recounts the daily plunder by police officers.
