When I was writing "The Fridge" I was thinking a lot about the concept of marriage and love itself. Smartphones forever changed our way of dating and finding love interests. Many young people nowadays have difficulties committing to one single partner, because a more beautiful, interesting and better fitting partner, could be only one swipe away. This movie is meant to show that "new" doesn't necessarily mean "better". If your only fix to relationship problems is, looking for someone new in the hopes they will be a better fit, you might hinder an intimate, personal and long lasting deep connection, to develop.
