The First Fyre Film

An audio film experience like no other...

Follow Ember, a sixteen year-old through the dangers of the mystical Realm on a journey of self-discovery and to complete a quest to prevent all the magic in the Realm from being lost.

This film experience is based on the original fantasy novel 'The First Fyre' by Helena White. Her aim for this project is to create an industry-standard sounding film to demonstrate how important sound is to a film, and that a story can be told without cinematography. This project was co-produced with her composer Luke Harrison, who has brought this project to life with his remarkable score.

This is an audio film with live voice-actors, original music and it's own unique sound design. This is the hour cinematic cut, the full three hour audio experience available online from July 2023. For this version we have used AI art technology to storyboard the film to help viewers in a cinema to understand who is speaking.

It is initially mixed in 7.1, the version on YouTube is the 7.1 to stereo fold-down, so some dialoge/FX may be quiet due to them being placed in rear speakers.

The 7.1 version is available for separate submission in DCP format, but as it's 70GB it is too large to attach to this website.

This project is to exhibit the potential of the 'First Fyre' story on the big screen, and showcase the incredible work by so many young people from different departments coming together to make this journey a reality.
