Director Biography - Tarush Gandhi

Hi, my name is Tarush. I'm 19 years old, and I was born and raised in Singapore. I've always had a burning passion for filmmaking, making short films with my friends ever since I was 10 years old. I took my passion to YouTube where I started creating a range of content of whatever I was interested in, from skits to gaming content to lego stop motions. I soon learned that people enjoyed my work, as I gained more traction and have now ammased over 150,000 subscribers on my channel named razing717. I studied higher level film at the UWC east campus in Singapore and graduated with my IB diploma in 2022. Throughout high school, I created over 10 short films with my friends. I am currently serving the country in national service, editing my films in my free time.

Director Statement

My aim is to tell stories that are as close to the truth as possible. Because I feel the more truthful they are, the more likely they are to inspire, to teach, and to add value to the world. Which is why the recent short films I have been working on have been inspired of my own struggles with anxiety, overthinking, insecurity, and the immense pressure that comes from being a teenager in an academic environment today. I really hope that my efforts in creating these projects end up helping at least a few people who are struggling with similar issues I have dealt with.
