Director Statement

The Final Draft was born as a challenge to myself as a screenwriter and director. I had never directed a horror film before, despite how much I love the genre, so this meant having to rediscover my approach to directing. In hindsight, I think the concept of the film was a subconscious reflection of my living situation at the time, being sequestered in my room and living with a landlord who was frankly a nightmare of his own. In the end, this film changed me as a director and taught me a lot about sharing the creative process with my team.
