The File

LOGLINE:
An older gay couple break into their recently deceased therapist's house to retrieve their file for fear of it getting into the wrong hands.

SYNOPSIS:
After the death of their beloved therapist, Scott and Paul feel like the stabilising third leg of their relationship has gone.
Scott is resolute to break in and retrieve their file so they can pass it on to their next therapist, and will hear nothing of Paul’s deterrents. The further they get into the house the more unhinged their relationship becomes. Just as Scott locates the filing cabinet upstairs, the front door clicks open and the therapist’s children - Sadie and Jake - enter. Despite hiding under dust sheets, fearful of being discovered, Scott is still unable to stop clinging to past resentments. With no other way down, Paul creates a rope out of sheets tied together, and helps Scott lower himself out the window.
The couple make a bungled escape back to the car and Paul momentarily leaves the file on the car roof as he fumbles for his keys. As they drive away, the papers in the file flutter away in the wind.
