The Feather Headdress of Ceroh (Ciopihay)

The old people in the indigenous village "Ceroh" said that only the newest ones who got qualified through tests and could stand up for this village can wear the feather headdress on their head, the representation of being a man (Tamdaw). However, the standard about getting qualified of being a man has been changed nowadays. The environment, people themselves also changed by times. Those scars made by colonization and contention of power still hurt the heart of Pangcah people, one of the indigenous people in Taiwan. This film takes three perspective of people of three different generation to analyze the problems that might be faced in modern Pangcah society.
