The Fabulous Destiny of the Beaubien Theater
The documentary sheds light on the Beaubien cinema, a charming little cinema in the Rosemont district of Montreal. In the early 2000s, the establishment survived the bankruptcy of giant Cineplex Odeon. Thanks to the mobilization of citizens, filmmakers, traders and politicians, the cinema was able to free itself from its old name, Le Dauphin, to become the Cinéma Beaubien and continue to exist. For 20 years, it has always been located in front of the magnificent Molson Park, with its outdoor ticket office and illuminated marquee.
