The Encino Grocery Store Wars

Dennis O'Neill is a recently unemployed salesman, who bumps into Lily, an attractive yet eccentric young woman, and the unemployment office. They make small talk and start to go their ways. In the parking lot however, Dennis gets assaulted by two young Italian thugs who work for Dennis grocer, who is a small time mobster it turns out. Dennis owes some money unfortunately but Lillian steps in as she also knows Rocco their boss, and it his girlfriend. She tells them to get lost.
Surprised, Dennis thanks her and the two become friends.
She goes back to Rocco and clears up the understanding - he is an older man from the old country.
Dennis starts working for Rocco and a relationship develops with Lily that turns romantic.
Dennis's best friend, Steven, warns him to be careful and not get in trouble with Rocco again.
Meanwhile some real big-time gangsters want to move in on Rocco's territory, and murder Rocco when he won't comply.
Angel and Luis, the two violent bagboys from Rocco's supermarket, think Dennis did it and he and Lily must escape for their safety. Sophia, Rocco's daughter helps them do so.
The remaining people hatch a plot to avenge Rocco's death and get the gangsters arrested.
They lure the mobsters and their thugs into the store, planning to record them talking about the killing and call the police.
Luis and Angel have gone grudgingly along with the plan, but have ideas of their own. When the mobsters are in the store they break from the plan and violently murder them for revenge.
Luis is killed by police. Lily saves the more quiet Angel from being killed as he speaks no English and can't understand police commands.
Dennis, Lilly, Steven and Sophia are left to try to pick up the pieces and continue with their lives.
