The Dream Of Anu
Through the science of dreams and guided by the memory of water, Anu, a young woman of African origin, retraces the steps of her ancestors across the territory of Paraíba. Along the way, three reunions aim to plant a new memory of Indigenous and Black presence in the Brazilian imagination.

Vanessa Kypá (Brasil-BR) is a filmmaker, art educator, and cultural producer. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and is the director, screenwriter, and producer of the short films Memória Cabocla (2023), O Sonho de Anu (2024), Doce de Gergelim (2024), and No Caminho do Rio (2025), which primarily explore themes of ancestry, oral memory, and sertanejo identity.
As an art educator, Vanessa carries out artistic initiatives through storytelling, painting, ceramics, and creative writing, offering workshops and interventions in traditional and rural communities, NGOs, and schools.
She is also the founder and coordinator of CineJuá, an itinerant cultural project that screens short films starring Black and Indigenous individuals, accompanied by free training sessions in areas far from urban centers. The project's mission is to contribute to the democratization of national cinema.
