The Deserter

These are words that Bruno Misefari, using the anagrammatic pseudonym of Furio Sbarnemi, wrote in his "Diary of a deserter" in 1918 while he was detained in a prison in Zurich for refusing the call to arms.

The desecration of souls and bodies, the mutilation of life, the rebellion of nature. >>
in the beginning the intent was to make known the story of that man and his diary, through a song written and performed by three artists that I deeply respect, Tony Canto, Pippo Kaballà Rinaldi, and Turè Muschio, is a self-produced video clip that shows some moments in the life of Bruno Misefari, anarchist poet, anti-militarist and deserter of the First World War.

Director Biography - Antonio Vezzari

Antonio Vezzari (Messina, 1985) è un regista e fotografo italiano. Utilizza la fotografia come mezzo di ricerca e racconto, con uno sguardo attento alle fragilità umane. Nato e cresciuto in Sicilia, si innamora sin da piccolo delle immagini. Appassionato di cinema fonda insieme ad amici un collettivo cinematografico, La Maladolescenza, con la quale realizza videoclip musicali, cortometraggi di genere, e una web serie "Milzaman" che successivamente diventa anche un film distribuito su Amazon Prime, ed in Home video. Nel 2016 viene selezionato da Reggio Cinema insieme ad altri 10 giovani registi per partecipare ad un laboratorio e co-dirigere un cortometraggio collettivo "Cosa vedi" presentato alla 73ma mostra Internazionale d'arte cinematografica di Venezia. Nel 2018 espone a Milano le foto del progetto "Low Life". Nel 2020 per Milano Photofestival espone la sua seconda mostra personale "La città dei cani", progetto tra i vincitori del Budapest International Photo Award 2020 nella categoria Natura. Nel 2022 espone per la mostra collettiva "Fotografie per Ferlinghetti" curata e organizzata da Letizia Battaglia al centro internazionale di fotografia di Palermo. Ed espone nello stesso anno per una collettiva al Festival Corigliano Calabro Fotografia.
