The Depths of Love
A struggling writer visits his aunt and uncle in a tropical beach town, seeking inspiration. He meets a magical mermaid who exposes him to the impact of the environmental damage in the bay. While his uncle offers him a secure job, the mermaid inspires him to write a story of love and redemption that could heal both the land and his soul. The writer must choose between stability or chasing a dream.

A LETTER FROM THE PRODUCERS
When we began filming The Depths of Love, we never imagined that the footage we captured would come to memorialize a landscape that no longer exists.
Filming began in June 2024, but in September we realized that we would need some extra days to shoot. We had planned to film in early October, but those plans were changed dramatically
when Hurricanes Helene and Milton hit the region. Siesta Key, where the film was shot, was deeply impacted by the storms, and it took months for the community and our crew to recover before we could finish.
When we finally shot the mermaid scenes in November, the circumstances had changed significantly. Our lead actress, Harris, and her husband Fulvio had evacuated during the storms,
and their home was consumed by a five-foot surge. The film’s themes of loss and resilience became even more personal.
The Depths of Love is a deeply collaborative effort, created by a diverse team of people who came together to tell this story. Through the mermaid’s question, “Is there anywhere safe left to
go?” We hope to spark a deeper conversation about the fragility of our environment and the places we call home.
