The Debt Solution - An Free Reign

The Debt Collector narrates the story of Gibran, a man from the neighborhood who was unexpectedly approached by an obscure debt collector who charged him a bill (which stated to be from a firm). Gibran, who was unaware of what had occurred, refused to pay any bill, claiming he did not feel like having debt, and removed the mystery debt collector with his sweep. The debt collector threatened him that if he did not pay the loan, the corporation would confiscate his residence. After being ejected, Gibran was terrified and depressed about how to resolve this issue. However, he remains hopeful since he has seen a neighborhood or community association. Can Gibran figure out how to solve this? Can the neighborhood association help him fairly? watch my film on liftoffnetwork student shorts p1 this march on website link that is listed on this page

Director Statement

"The Debt Solution" is an indonesian and javanese language film that has gripping narrative that delves into the complexities of personal responsibility, community support, and the consequences of financial hardship. Through the character of Gibran, we explore the relatable struggle of facing unexpected debt and the fear of losing one's home.

At its core, the film examines human resilience in adversity. Gibran's defiance against the debt collector reflects a desire for autonomy and dignity, showcasing his determination to find a solution despite challenges.

Gibran's experience also highlights the value of communal cohesion and mutual aid. The presence of the neighborhood organization serves as a light of solidarity and collective action, giving Gibran a glimmer of hope in his darkest hour. The film scores are also one of its fascinating characteristics for each frame, having an unconventional jazz, drum flavor to it that i think wonderfully complements and help elevates each scene and plot that occurred during the film.

As the director, I aimed to create a work that addressed topics such as debt in a lighthearted or even comedic manner, with characters often acting in ways that are funny but still weighed with an emotionally resonant narrative that invites audiences to reflect on issues of debt, financial insecurity, and the strength found in community bonds. "The Debt Collector" is a reminder of the human ability for resilience and the transformational power of solidarity during times of hardship.
