This film series, at Canton Ohio's newest cinema The Cut, is a celebration of the works of every passionate film maker who has ever felt small or unimportant. Canton, Ohio is the 8th largest city in Ohio but spawned a United States President and the NFL organization, and now hosts the Hall of Fame festival every year. Everyone deserves a chance in the spotlight, so show us what you've got.

The Cut Cinema is a 30 seat theater. We are part of BZTAT Studios, an independent art gallery and studio.

Awards & Prizes

Official Selection laurels will be distributed to films that are shown.

Rules & Terms

You must have the right to submit your film and for it to be viewed by the public. We also reserve the right to use images from your film to promote the screening of your film if it is selected for showing. Films that have previously been selected are ineligible. Films must be English Language, Subtitled in English, or be Silent.

    I was accepted into last year's festival, but only knew because Film Freeway notified me. I was never given any information regarding time or location, I don't even know if my short film played.

    If it did not, I would like a refund. I've tried contacting several times before but still have never gotten a response.

    the Cut Film Series is a little different, it's more of a weekend residency than film festival (hence the title film 'series' not festival). You get 3 nights of screenings in the arts district in Canton, Ohio. The audiences are an eclectic group and support filmmakers. I enjoyed myself and found the presentation to be excellent.
