Hi, I'm Ella, the writer and director of 'The Crow's Call. Although I've been making films in some sense since I was a child, this is the first one with a crew and funding behind it. The whole process has been amazing, mainly due to the wonderful people I had the opportunity to work alongside.
Mae's story began in the Summer of 2022, when I started writing the script. Over various drafts the story became darker and more quiet; one of my favourite things about the film is how the story comes across visually with very little dialogue.
I hope viewers can connect to Mae's story of escape, and the struggle of leaving love behind in pursuit of freedom.
