The Cross in the Sahel

Burkina Faso has witnessed a brutal wave of persecution against Christians, as jihadist groups terrorize communities through killings, kidnappings of priests, and widespread violence. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, forced into refugee camps where unsanitary conditions and malnutrition, especially among children, are rampant. Amid this turmoil, the Church remains a beacon of hope, providing humanitarian aid, healthcare, housing assistance, and, above all, spiritual support to sustain the faith and resilience of the suffering Burkinabé. Priests and religious sisters stand unwaveringly with their communities, offering solace and hope in the face of adversity.
