Daniel Peña is a filmmaker with a background in Film and Digital Animation from UNIAT (University of Advanced Technologies). He has worked on various projects as a director and cinematographer, highlighting his work as director in the short films “Contacto”, “Amar y Querer” and “Sola”. As a cinematographer, he has contributed his poetic style to short films such as “En el nombre de” and “La última y ya”. His passion for cinematography has led him to develop a vision characterized by a visual narrative that seeks to capture the essence and emotion in each frame.
I discovered that there was a big difference between watching movies and making them. My early work was heavily influenced by Nolan's filmography, but then I took Tarantino's advice: make the movies that I myself would want to watch. Since then, I've been on that continuous search for an authentic voice, creating stories that resonate with me.
