THE COLOR HAPPY

There is plenty of scientific evidence supporting the theory of how colors influence our mind, emotions and behavior. As humans, we respond to each other very much like chameleons, taking our hue and color of our moral character from our environment and those around us. Pair this with meaningful relationships - the combination can have a powerful effect.

After meeting Brian DeRozan (Writer/Producer/Actor), I was inspired to tell this urban tale loosely based on his true-life experience. I felt compelled to share this story about friendship that celebrates community and positive change.

There was a visual effort to capture the Los Angeles beach landscape from a different perspective. The seascape color palette is overcast and moody, sans the bright, colorful surfers or bikini clad girls against colorful sunsets. The tone is somber and real.

This film is a call to action—about the beckoning of a spirit that yearns to be recognized within us. We are not alone on this journey. But it begins with the belief of oneself and taking courageous steps. But what does that mean and look like? What are the costs? What does it take to realize?

My hope is that this film resonates the essence and joy of that challenge and reflects the struggle and effect of friendship that blooms through art and the innocence of a child.
