The Collector

Gustavo Zimmermann, a 42-year-old archaeologist, ventures into a dark forest trying to complete the last investigation into his missing grandfather. Once there, he meets a mysterious Old Man who keeps a vast collection of objects in his cabin, which arouses Gustavo's interest and suspicions.

Director Biography - Samuel Hernandez

Samuel Hernández (born December 2, 2000), is a Mexican director, writer and gaffer, originally from Tampico, Tamaulipas and raised in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz.

Graduated from the Luis Buñuel Veracruzana Film School, he began his career in Xalapa with the 2019 Diploma in Cinematography, resulting in the short films Mano Negra (2019) and El Hijo de las Estrellas (2020).

In 2020, during the Covid 19 pandemic, he entered the EVCLB, where he made the short films No Se Acabarán Mis Flores (2022), exhibited at the Cumbre Tajín 2022, La Máscara de la Muerte Roja (2023), based on the story by Edgar Allan Poe, El Contrato (2023), El Catrín (2025), and El Coleccionista (2025), his thesis short film, a Cosmic horror fiction inspired by the literature of H. P. Lovecraft and the disappearance of Jacobo Grinberg, currently on festival route.
