The Coldest City

In 1944, the gunman Gu Nian is entrusted by his dear friend Fang Ping to deliver his belongings to Bincheng before Fang’s death. Upon arrival, Gu Nian learns that Fang's family has been brutally murdered several years ago. Determined to uncover the truth behind the massacre, Gu Nian decides to stay in Bincheng and secretly investigates the culprit behind the killing. In the following year, Gu Nian disguises himself using Fang Ping's identity and begins to assassinate the suspected villains in different gangs one by one.

By 1945, the war has ended and the puppet state of Manchukuo is temporarily taken over by the Soviet army. To better conceal his identity, Gu Nian takes a job as a gunman under the command of a boss named Zhong Zhen at a warehouse dock.
