As a writer, director and producer, Taylor draws on his background in musical theatre composition to create larger-than-life stories that remain personal, always approaching the next project with the manta, "if this is the last thing I get to make, is this what I want it to be". Taylor wrote three original musicals between 2018 and 2022, The Killdeer, A Boy Wanted to, and StrawBrain, the former two of which were produced at The State Theatre Centre of WA. Taylor wrote and produced the award-winning short I Am Ghost, and has worked on the crew for feature films such as Lies Within Us (2023) and TV programs such as The Amazing Race (2022). Taylor secured his first professional writing credit on the web series The Curse of Baba Yaga (2023), produced by ScreenAustralia. Taylor now runs his own independent production house HoneyBomb, through which he wrote produced and directed a lo-fi independent feature. A coming-of-age story, with a 2025 release planned.
